Markup Calculator
Set prices confidently. Enter cost and markup % to find selling price, or enter cost and price to find markup %.
How It Works
Markup is % of cost added to find selling price. Calculates in both directions: price from markup, or markup from price.
Formula
Selling Price = Cost × (1 + Markup/100)
Markup % = (Price − Cost) / Cost × 100
Example
Cost $25, markup 80%:
Price = $25 × 1.80 = $45. Gross margin = 44.4%.
When to Use This Calculator
Use when pricing wholesale-to-retail products, creating a standard pricing policy, or verifying prices against cost targets.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Confusing markup with margin — 50% markup ≠ 50% margin.
- Not covering all costs — include indirect and overhead.
- Same markup for all products — commodity items need lower markup.
